Tonight, at the KAHCF Convention, in Louisville, Hillcrest Health & Rehabilitation Center staff were up for three awards. Kelli Smith won the Public Relations Award for Community Event. Hillcrest residents joined with staff and the community to make Chemo-care bags for the local cancer care center. Hillcrest collected 1,950 donated items, and residents assembled 150 Chemo-Care bags. Residents painted socks to make them grippy to reduce the danger of falling, made blankets and scarves, shared personal stories and prayer tags. There were so many bags, it took more than one vehicle to load them.  We are very proud of all of our fine employees here at Hillcrest HRC.
