hillcrest-hrc-hts-week-1Residents and staff at Hillcrest Health and Rehabilitation Center have gone to camp…Camp Reminisce that is!This week is jam-packed with fun in celebration of our Therapy Team.  Our residents love their therapists!

To “reminisce” means to “indulge in enjoyable recollection of past events.” We definitely indulged! Each day of the week has been full of classic activities. We made old-fashioned wooden crafts, ate old-fashioned candy, went fishing, milked a cow (well, a replica of one), and “Sweated it Out” with Richard Simmons (impersonator)!

This celebration week was established by Healthcare Therapy Services, Inc. (HTS). This organization was formed in response to a long term care market in need. Because of a ruling that was passed in the 1980s, all long-term care providers were required to provide rehab services. However, many rural providers didn’t receive therapy services unless they were located close in proximity to a hospital rehabilitation department.

HTS advocates for those who require therapeutic intervention–physical, occupational, or speech–so they can maximize their independence, reach their goals, and enhance their quality of life.
